Your media server, paid for once

Your library, forged to last.

One vault

Everything you own, in one place.

Plugins

Add what you need. Build what's missing.

Every source Forgevault can browse is a plugin: a single .fvplugin file you install from Settings, with nothing to change on the server. Plugins carry a version and update in place, and each one says which tools it needs and which systems it runs on.

  • Books from Project Gutenberg and OAPEN, the Internet Archive, MangaDex, Webtoons and more
  • Paste a Stremio addon's address and it becomes a source
  • The plugin builder comes with Forgevault, so anyone can write one

It does the tedious parts

Less setting up. More watching.

  • Metadata on its ownTMDB, TVmaze, AniList and MusicBrainz, matched when you scan and saved for good. If a match is wrong, you fix it from the card.
  • Skip intro, skip creditsIt finds the opening and the credits, skips the one, and offers the next episode during the other.
  • Subtitles that behaveEmbedded tracks and sidecar files, drawn cleanly on every client.
  • Your whole householdEach person has their own account and watch history, and you choose which libraries they see.

Actually yours

It runs in your house, not in our cloud.

The server runs on your own computer. Your library, watch history and accounts stay on your own disk. There are no ads and no tracking, and there's no company server that has to stay up for you to press play.

  • Works on your home network with no internet at all
  • No account with us is needed to watch
  • Share links run through a tunnel, so you don't open ports on your router

Questions

Good to know

Is it really just one payment?

Yes. You pay once and it's yours for good. There's no monthly fee, and you'll never pay for an upgrade: every future version is included. You never have to update, either. Keep the version you have, or download the latest whenever you like.

What do I need to run the server?

A Windows, macOS or Linux machine that stays on while you watch. A spare PC is plenty. The media can be on that machine's drives or on a NAS share it has mounted.

Can my family use it?

Yes. Make an account for each person. Everyone gets their own watch history and ratings, and you choose which libraries each group can see.

Can I write my own plugin?

Yes. The plugin builder makes a new project with everything it needs, checks your plugin against its manifest, and packs it into one file you can install or share.

Does it work without the internet?

On your home network, yes. The internet is only used to look up posters and details for new files, and for share links when you send one.
